ragtags studio central: sarah's random this & that

random means "having no definite aim or purpose," (1655), taken from "at random" (1565), "at great speed" (thus, "carelessly, haphazardly"). In 1980s college student slang, it somehow, and sadly, acquired a distinct sense of "inferior, undesirable." (Online Etymology Dictionary, Douglas Harper) Well, okay, fine, Mr. Online Etymology Dictionary person, but THIS is the 21st Century. It's a whole new ball of wax.

Sneak Peek and Launch Party announcement

Today is the first day of a new contest. There will be 3 possible ways to win and 3 FABULOUS, YES FABULOUS, prizes given, so listen carefully...above you see 3 images from the soon-to-be-released Pasticcio 7. You will need to keep checking this blog for updates on when it becomes available. Go here to get Issue 5 or Issue 6. Leave me a comment letting me know you have a copy of either 5 or 6, and I will send you 1 question to answer via my email, open book quiz style. A correct answer will give you 5 chances to win. Issue 7 is now available, too, and there will be an extra opportunity given for anyone who lets me know they have that particular issue to answer for 5 more chances, and it's so packed with info and art you won't want to miss it for the world! The second part of the contest involves a clue and a product, and the product might be ANYthing. On the 13th of the month I will give a clue, and again, you will simply leave me a comment letting me know you have the answer, but don't post the answer within your comment! Again, a correct answer to my email will give you 5 chances to win. The 3rd and final way to win is simply to comment on any post within the month. 1 chance to win will be given per comment per post, so if you want more chances, you need to check and see how busy I have been posting. This contest will run each month through the end of 2009. (And I'll make it retroactive for August, so you can comment on earlier posts.) The first set of prizes will include a signed copy of In This Garden and a piece of jewelry from the Designs & Ragtags shop. I'll be waiting to hear from you.
